I worked with Sorin + Valeriu for a few months on a kitchen remodel in my home in Berkeley, along with an architect that I hired as well. I evaluated a few firms in the area and chose Sorin based on his work nearby and his professionalism in talking about the needs of this particular project, and the competitiveness of his bid.
Sorin started off bidding on a chimney removal and by the end we had run into a bunch more work than we expected. He was willing to extend the job to include replacing old stucco, removing an unnecessary exterior wall, re-tiling the roof and even painting the entire house.

We had Sorin and his team remodel our kitchen, and it was a wonderful experience. His team was professional, reliable, affordable, and very clean. They demoed, fabricated and installed new countertops, installed a new range, sink, and cabinet hardware. His team helped with the design and helped source materials. Excellent!!! Sorin and his team did a phenomenal job remodeling our kitchen. Our home was built in the late 1940's and the kitchen had not been remodeled in over 25 years. Sorin is a solution-guy. You have a problem with your house? Sorin will find a solution for it. We had the pleasure of working with Sorin and his crew on a recent project removing a massive retaining wall and turning it into a a larger driveway. There were some unexpected complications along the way, but Sorin was able to deal with them quickly and efficiently. His prices are definitely reasonable for the Bay Area, and his costs are very transparent. I really appreciated how responsive he was to my concerns, and how everyone in his crew was professional and polite. They always cleaned up the site at the end of the day which was really appreciated.
